Aux Dog Theatre Nob Hill will host a reading of Talia Pura’s play, Mother of Mine, Monday, November 20, at 7 p.m. at the theatre’s X-Space, 3015 Monte Vista Boulevard, NE, Albuquerque. This free reading is part of the theatre’s First Stage Scripts program.
Talia Pura is a playwright, actor, director, filmmaker, designer, aerial dancer and educator. She has written/produced/directed ten short dramatic films, which have been screened at various film festivals around the world, with some licensed for television broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). As a playwright, Talia has written over 25 plays, resulting in many productions, several publications and a CBC radio commission. Her play Cry After Midnight represented Canada at the Women Playwrights International Conference (WPIC) in Stockholm in 2012. She performed her solo drama, This I Have Believed, at the WPIC in Cape Town in 2015.
Mother of Mine is a full-length drama concerning Laura, who never received a mother’s unconditional love, not years ago when her mother was alive, and not now, when she reaches out to Laura from beyond the grave.
